Prof. Dr. Syed Atiqul Haq

Prof. Dr. Syed Atiqul Haq is widely recognized as the best rheumatologist in Dhaka and a pioneering figure in Bangladesh rheumatology. He established the country’s first Rheumatology clinic in 1991 and founded the Bangladesh Rheumatology Society in 1997, where he now serves as President. His contributions earned him the Fellowship of the Royal College of Physicians of Edinburgh in 2003 and the International Fellowship of the American College of Rheumatology in 2005.

Currently, Prof. Dr. Syed Atiqul Haq serves as the Chief Consultant at Green Life Center for Rheumatic Care and Research. He also served as the first Chairman of the Rheumatology Department at Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujib Medical University (BSMMU) from 2012, where he was Ex. Chairman and Professor. His research interests include epidemiology of rheumatic disorders, knee osteoarthritis, and SLE, advancing rheumatology training and practices across Bangladesh.
