Professor Dr. S.M. Lutfor Rahman began his medical journey with an MBBS from Sheer‑E‑Bangla Medical College, Barisal, graduating in 1989, followed by a prestigious WHO scholarship for a fellowship in Respiratory Medicine at the University of Toronto in 2002. He later earned the FCPS (Pulmonology) from the Bangladesh College of Physicians and Surgeons, cementing his expertise in chest medicine.

With a career spanning more than three decades, he has served at Dhaka Medical College, the National Institute of Diseases of the Chest and Hospital (NIDCH), and currently as Professor of Respiratory Medicine at Shaheed Suhrawardy Medical College & Hospital (Retd.).
